Photography and Other Tricks of Light
Take a peek via the magic of photography at Tser's life beyond the computer. Photographer is Tserisa Supalla unless otherwise noted.
Here is Tser, looking amazingly cute! Tserisa was a happy hatchling. Photographer: Steve Supalla -- Click for full size version.
- Jammin' in my 'Jammies -- Tser-chan listening to Pink Floyd or Moody Blues on some huge headphones in red footie pajamas. Photographer: Steve Supalla
- Proper Way to Raise a Child -- Rocking out again, this time with Blankie. Photographer: Steve Supalla
- Tserisa and Jenny -- A few years old, of Tserisa and Jenny in Tser's backyard. Photographer: Jessica Supalla
- Tser at the Zoo -- Tser at the Washington Park Zoo. Spring (?) of '98. Photographer: Jenny Duyck
- Jenny -- A many years old photo of Jenny!
- Angel and the Chickens -- Long time Tser-friend Angel with Chicken Boo and Rusty. The hands holding up 'Boo are Vanessa's. Chicken Boo and Rusty are deeply missed.
- Solomon and Vanessa -- Solomon the prehensile-tailed skink poses with Vanessa. She is NOT as close as she looks. If a solomon island prehensile-tailed skink bites, it's described as "getting shut in the car door". Would you like your lips slammed in a car door? In Solomon's memory.
- The Pigeons -- Tser's two beautiful crested English trumpeter pigeons who met an untimely end at the paws of a raccoon. They were gorgeous, weren't they? :(
- Dulloora -- In memory of Dulloora the cockatiel, Tser's first bird and baby, never to be forgotten. Lovely Dullie....
- Jabberwock -- Tser's Nanday conure, Jabber, as a baby. Ohhh so kawaii!
- Nrgwenya -- The younger of the royal pythons as a baby.
- Kelekona -- One of the original dams when Tser was breeding seal-point Siamese rats... Kele lived to be a ripe 7 years old.
- A Camel Pooping -- A camel in a PA zoo poops. Who do YOU think took this photo? Photographer: Rob
- The King of Poop Himself -- A photo of Rob at the zoo in all his wonderfulness! Look at his wonderful choice of hairstyles! Photographer: Unknown
- Grandpa and Grandma Nelson -- Tser's grandparents on her mum's side. Photographer: Unknown
- Mom and Dad's Marraige -- Wow! That was a LONG time ago. Hehehe. Photographer: Unknown
- Sister: Jessi -- Jessi, Tser's sis, in a school photo. What the heck? How did her school photo come out looking so damn good??? Geez. This is several years old. Photographer: One of Those Crappy School Photographers
- Jessi Just Born -- Tser's daddy holding her newborn sis. Photographer: Unknown
- Jareth Off-Duty -- A crappy polaroid of Jareth, the luverly wonderful service dog, at "Attention".
- Jake -- Jake, a very wonderful sweet and *extremely* well trained horse from the barn, belonging to tser's mom's friend. He's a sweetie.
- Sterling -- Despite the fact she doesn't own him, Tser's pride and joy, a grulla Foundation QH stallion, Sterling. Her mom is holding him because he kept following her around and getting too close to take a picture (he's so sweet), but didn't want to be in the photo.
- Smokey and Jasper -- Tser's horses! Smokey, the white appaloosa, is in front, giving Jasper some scritchies, while Jasper does so from the other side.
- Jasper and Smokey -- They turned around! Now you get a better view of Jasper, the bay QH colt. Cuuuute!
- Jareth and Tser -- Taken September, 2000. Jareth at attention with Tser. You can't see the piercings very well, but that bump under her lip is a labret stud, not a hugemongous pimple. Rest in peace, Jareth. Photographer: Chris Supalla
- Gypsy and Isis -- Gypsy, the 12 year old Basenji mix, and Isis, the five month old Australian kelpie, playing a favorite game. Jan. 27th, 2001. Photographer: Steve Supalla
- Isis -- "The Dingo" playing in the backyard. She's so cute! Jan. 27th, 2001. Photographer: Steve Supalla
- "Fleabag" -- Silver Fairy Princess Mary Jane poses for the camera. Actually it took us forever to get her to stop wandering too close to the camera or jumping off the chair. Jan. 27th, 2001. Photographer: Steve Supalla
- Toi Alexandrite -- Our new horse, Polish Arabian *Bask grandson, Xandy. He loves to eat, and here he would obviously rather munch a carrot than look at the camera, despite mum's directions to do so. Jan. 29th, 2001. Photographer: Steve Supalla
- Xandy Photo 2 -- Got any more food for me? It was a gorgeous day with dark clouds and everything fresh with rain. Jan. 29th, 2001. Photographer: Steve Supalla
- Xandy Headshot -- A ... headshot of Xandy! In front of the barn where he's boarded. Jan. 29th, 2001. Photographer: Steve Supalla
- Rusty and Chicken Boo -- A very old photo of my two beloved pet Rhode Island Red chickens, Rusty (front) and Chicken Boo. Miss you guys.
- The Great Baldness -- Well, it's been literally a year since any photos of Tser were made public. This is a pic of my big bald head (it feels like sandpaper). Pics I'll tolerate don't come around often, and I'm only letting you see this one because it's mostly just the top of my head. September 16th, 2001
- Flaming Orange -- A picture of Tser. Yay, aren't you excited! I'm wearing my PJs and that there doggy is Isis. This picture was taken for my hair dyeing page. Mar. 21st, 2002. Photographer: Jess Supalla
- Orangeness from the Back -- Another pic of me. My hair at least. The above style from the back. Mar. 21st, 2002. Photographer: Jess Supalla
- Xandy All Dressed Up -- I didn't have any recent pics of Xandy, and he's practically a different horse from the first ones (in which he was shaggy and suffering from strangles). He's all shiny and muscular and healthy. Unfortunately the camera I had to take pictures with was one of those crummy disposable ones. Early '02.
- Blurry on Horseback -- A very out-of-focus picture of me riding Xandy. I'm wearing my boots with 3-inch platforms. Oops. (And this is the only time I've ridden without a helmet -- I hadn't planned on getting on. Usually I'm much more responsible!) Early '02. Photographer: Chris Supalla
- Black and White Xandy -- Riding Xandy. The lighting for these was atrocious. Early '02. Photographer: Chris Supalla
- Xandy Again! -- Another riding picture. Blurry, as are the rest. But he's a cutey, isn't he? Early '02. Photographer: Chris Supalla
- The End of Innocence -- This is my sister, Jess, when she was just a wee one. When I first saw this picture, I was struck by how absolutely twisted it looks. Hehe. Possibly 1987 or '88? Photographer unknown.
Tser collects bones and specifically skulls. She only collects those she finds (already dead things) or bones given as gifts. The following are pictures of some of them, taken with a digital camera on Sept 11, 2001.
- Bone pile -- Random bones. A vertebra and a deer jaw with teeth. There is also quite a bit of petrified wood, which was given to us because it was possibly home to a poltergeist... yeah. 9-11-01
- Cat -- One of several domestic cat skulls I have. This is one of the larger ones. 9-11-01
- Coyote -- Probably the gnarliest looking of the bones, I found the coyote dead of unknown causes at the edge of a pasture in Aloha, OR, while riding my horse. I waited for the 'yote to rot before collecting. It has some vertebrae attached and is kind of banged up from rough handling (not by myself). 9-11-01Unfortunately it's missing many teeth.
- Mule Deer -- Given to me by a friend who lives in Central Oregon. A very pretty skull... pretty sure it's a mule deer. If I'm wrong I'm sure the deer experts out there will let me know. :) 9-11-01
- Deer Spine -- Probably a mule deer. The latest addition to my collection at the time these photos were taken, it's a nice percentage of the spine, plus pelvic bone and many ribs, still connected. It was aquired in the mountains near McMinnville, OR, on September 1st, 2001. 9-11-01
- Elk -- Just part of the skull of an elk, found many years ago in the Coast Range, probably near Timber, OR. 9-11-01
- Horse -- A horse skull, found near Diamond Mill, spring 2000, by my dad and some motorcycle riding buddies. One of my favorites, pretty darn big and in great condition. 9-11-01
- Goblin! -- This is another of my favorite skulls, and very small. It's a domestic kitten (or possibly a demon!). It has some very unique characteristics compared to my other cat and kitten skulls. It was found in a neglected tree farm in Aloha, OR. 9-11-01
- Kitten-Goblin Annotated -- Above pic with notes. There are tooth marks in the top of the skull, which were probably aquired by whatever killed it. Oh, how I wish I was a forensic pathologist! The front bicuspids completely overlap on both sides. The whole top jaw juts forward, so the front canines stick straight out. 9-11-01
- Nutria -- One of two nutria skulls, I got this particular nutria Sept. 23rd 1999 on Rock Creek, the suburban street I grew up on. However, it was recently dead roadkill rather than these nice clean bones displayed. I had my mom stop the car on the way to the animal shelter to look at dogs, and since it was my birthday, she let me bring it home in the back. I buried it in the backyard and these are the bones I kept after digging it up. Femur, ribs, lower jaw, skull, vertebrae and more. 9-11-01
- Other Nutria -- The other nutria skull, found as is in the abandoned tree farm around the same time as the goblin. The teeth really stand out on this one.
- Deer Pelvic Bone -- The first bone ever in my collection! I got this bone when I was 6 years old or so. Some hippie-esque older folks we were camping with found the skeleton in Timber, and I brought this and a couple vertebrae home. Special because of that! That couple once came to our house as well and the woman showed me how to draw trees using dots for leaves. And once while we were camping, I made a rug for in front of their camper door out of moss, until I saw a bug on it. I'm sure they were oh-so-grateful. ;)
