Tserisa's Name Pronounciation Guide

I'm not too worried about mispronounciations of my name. I understand that it's very difficult (even after explaining it and saying it face to face, many people can't make the sounds). However, a lot of people are curious, so I've decided to put up a page to explain it.

Tserisa: tS&r-'Iz-&
Tser: 'tSar or 'tS&r or 'tSer
Audio file: "tS&r-'Iz-&, 'tSar"

Pronounciation Symbols:

/&/ a schwa, an unstressed mid-central vowel; as the & in "America": &-'mer-&-k&
/I/ hard i, like the i in ice
/a/ like the a in ash
/e/ like the e in bet
/tS/ the t is not silent but not fully pronounced; to make this sound, make your mouth like you're going to say "tea" but make the "s" sound (sssss) instead. (So to say "tS&r", make your mouth like you're going to say "tea" but say "s&r" instead.)

Alternate Explanation for the "tS" Sound

There're no English words that have the same sound at the beginning as my name does. However, the "ts" is pronounced like "its" without the "i". Most English-speakers go their entire lives without putting that sound at the beginning of a word.
